Nexus One

A big day for Android

18 days after , Google has for an Android event at Mountain View, where they will most likely officially announce the device, a day before the CES consumer technology trade-show. The press event falls on the 5th January 2010  that the Nexus One will have its official world premier on this date.

An internal T-Mobile blog page also confirms rumours that they will be supporting the Nexus One, but that it will be sold direct by Google via the internet. Google and HTC will also be handling customer support for the phone direct, with T-Mobile providing network access only.

Worth noting is that whilst almost certain that Google will announce their new handset on 5th January, it is still not known when it will be available to buy.

Whilst it’s possible that Google could launch sales of the device on that same day as the announcement it’s more likely that there will be an unveiling on the 5th January with sales beginning some time following in February or March. This would also give the company the necessary time to build an official marketing campaign around the device before they take it to market.
